The spring of 2007 I was lucky enough to get up to Solitude Ranch for a spring turkey hunt. This was the first time I had been turkey hunting and everybody had told me how much fun it is to hunt these birds. After Mike and Frank showed us around the ranch we setup some blinds and I tried my hand at calling in a turkey. The turkeys were definitely there, I am just not sure my turkey calling ability was very good. After a few days of missed opportunities I finally had my chance. I choose to use a spot and stalk approach and it paid off. I was able to sneak in and position myself where the turkeys were heading. I was able to stick one with my bow at about 20 yards.
